One World Children Fund
In 2019 OWCF (through Rose Stone Foundation) funded a project titled ‘Advancing economic empowerment and sexual reproductive health and right of 50 refugees, rural-urban migrants in distress and internally displaced Kenyan girls and women and enhanced refugee-host community interaction and support ‘.
In 2018 OWCF funded a project titled ‘Empowering refugees and internally displaced girls and young women through systems strengthening, protection, awareness-raising and economic empowerment ‘.The project benefited 56 participants
Global Fund Women
In 2018 GFW funded the East African Young Women Leadership and Mentorship Initiative (EAYWLMI) through the Domestic Workers Transformation Program. The Initiative is to enable holistic empowerment of domestic workers:- to build feminist leadership and mentorship capacities of Domestic Workers from a low-income neighborhood, especially induction in community advocacy and movement building.
Tali Fund
The Talia Agler Family owns the Tali Fund, the foundation that committed to supporting the CDTD’s Talia Agler Girls Shelter after their daughter’s death in 2012 (Talia Agler – formerly an Intern at the shelter).
NOVO Foundation
Tho NOVO Foundation currently (since 2015) supports CDTD with an institutional capacity strengthening grant to enhance the effectiveness of CDTD’s programs.
Terre des Hommes Netherlands
For 18 months, 2014-2015 CDTD participated in a consortium consisting of ANPPCAN Regional Office, Childline Kenya, and CDTD to fight Child Trafficking in two informal settlements of Nairobi namely; Mathare and Mukuru. The consortium worked under the technical support of Terre des Hommes Netherlands.
United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR)
In 2007-2013, CDTD entered into a co-operation agreement with UNHCR for the provision of vocational skills to urban refugees in Nairobi. Over a period of 7 years, refugee youths were provided with skills for employment and self-reliance. At the same time, accommodation and safe house services were provided to refugees in transit and those with heightened security concerns respectively.
Global Fund for Children (GFC)
For 5 years: 2008 -2012, the Global Fund for Children funded CDTD to conduct community advocacy against child labor and abuse, rescue abused girls, rehabilitate them and reintegrate them through family re-union, vocational skills training and return to school where possible.
Kenya Private Sector Alliance – KEPSA
In 2012, CDTD was contracted to offer consultant services for the Kenya Youth Empowerment Project (KYEP) Component 2. Under this agreement, CDTD provided MSE Sector Specific Skills Training to Out-of-school youths in Nairobi, Mombasa and Kisumu.
TechnoServe
In 2011, CDTD partnered with TechnoServe for the implementation of a project entitled “Young Women in Enterprise: Transforming Generations”. Under this partnership CDTD was mandated to mobilize adolescent out-of-school girls in domestic labor, currently in CDTD’s program, provide them with training in entrepreneurship and financial education so that they can gain skills in enterprise development.
US Embassy- Ambassador’s Self Help Fund
From 2008 -2009, The Ambassador’s Self Help Fund through USAID has provided 2 grants for the purchase of equipment for training domestic workers with skills for homecare management. The project also empowered them with information on rights and obligations.
Population Council
In 2008, Population Council gave CDTD an award to conduct a project entitled “Adolescent domestic workers empowerment project” which targeted female adolescent domestic workers living in Kibera. The girls were provided with vocational skills, Life skills, labor rights/obligations and reproductive health education over a period of 9 months.
International Organization for Migration (IOM)
In 2008, CDTD entered into a partnership with IOM to counter help in the provision of comprehensive assistance to victims of trafficking under IOM’s “Phase 2 of the Human Trafficking in Kenya through Capacity Building, Awareness Raising and Assistance to Victims”.
National Aids Control Council
In 2005, The NAAC gave CDTD a grant for the provision of HIV/AIDS awareness-raising activities for out-of-school youths engaged in domestic work in Kibera, Nairobi. The project involved skills training in homecare management, labor rights/obligations and job placements.
Ford Foundation
In 2004, the Ford Foundation funded CDTD to strengthen its advocacy for domestic workers through community awareness-raising activities, roundtable discussions between domestic workers and their employers and strengthening of collaborations with key stakeholders.
Kenya Institute of Education
In 2004, CDTD collaborated with KIE for the development of a National Curriculum in Homecare Management. With funding from the Kenya Government, the first phase of the project is complete; currently teachers and learners guides are being developed.
KSSP – Community Support Grant
With funding from the Ministry of Education through the Directorate of Adult Education, CDTD strengthened its adult education services through the purchase of teaching and learning materials for adult learners.
